Terms of service

1. The agreement
These terms are between you and CST Solution, the maker of Simple Note Taker. Using the extension, the apps or this website means you accept them. If you do not, do not use the service — and if you have paid, ask for a refund.
2. Your account
You need an account only for sync. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us if you think someone else has access. You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and at least 13.
3. Your notes are yours
You own everything you write, record and capture. We claim no rights over it. We store and transmit it only to provide the service to you — never to train a model, never to sell, never to show anyone else.
4. What you may not do
- Store anything illegal where you are, or use the service to harm others.
- Attack the service, or try to reach another person's notes.
- Resell access, or run it as a service for other people, without asking us.
- Use automated capture to bulk-mirror other people's copyrighted material.
We can suspend an account that does these things. Where we can, we will tell you why first.
5. Plans and payment
Free is free and stays free. Pro and Cloud are subscriptions that renew until you cancel.

In-app prices are higher because Apple and Google take a share of every subscription sold through them. All prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax your country adds.
6. Cancelling and refunds
Cancel any time. Access continues to the end of the period you have paid for, and does not renew after that. Where you bought it decides who refunds it — see the support page. Subscriptions billed by Apple or Google can only be cancelled or refunded by Apple or Google; we have no ability to do it.
If we stop offering the service, we will refund the unused part of a subscription bought here and give you at least 30 days to export everything.
7. If you stop paying
Nothing is deleted and nothing is locked. Notes already on your device stay readable and exportable. You go back to the Free limit of 5 new notes a day, and sync stops.
8. Availability
We aim to keep the service up and we do not promise it always will be. The extension and the apps keep working offline — capture and local search do not need our server — which is deliberate, so an outage here is an inconvenience and not a lost thought.
9. Backups are shared work
We back the server up nightly. That is not a substitute for your own copy: export anything you cannot afford to lose. If you use end-to-end encryption and lose your passphrase, we cannot help — there is no recovery path and that is by design.
10. Liability
The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you before it applies, and continuing to use the service after that means you accept it.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam, and the courts of Vietnam have jurisdiction — except that if you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you keep the protections and the courts of the country you live in.
